This change request process is simple: a user submits a form detailing the change they want to make. A task is assigned to a relevant party who handles the change and marks the task completed when the change is made. Optionally, you can also add review and approval steps if you want someone other than the handler to approve changes to a particular business process. This process provides links for users to start the change requests from anywhere and at any time. It gives convenient access for users and empowers the process by using query parameters to populate the change request form, effectively create templates for change requests on a link-by-link basis. Links can be written by hand (once you know how), but the actual HTML can be repetitive and prone to errors, so this solution includes a little JavaScript to make creating links easier.
